This New York City Hotel Wants to Teach You How to Knit
Make your grandma proud.
It’s not every day you get to learn a skill firsthand from a seasoned pro — which is why Arlo Hotels' Designer Knitting Series is an event you don’t want to miss.
Every Monday in March, Arlo SoHo and Arlo NoMad will host a knitting lesson led by master knitter Dira Adams, who graduated from England’s prestigious Nottingham Trent University knitwear program, and whose resume includes stints at luxury brands like Donna Karan and JW Anderson.
The unique opportunity is free for hotel guests and $45 for everyone else.
Adams will assist participants as they make a pair of unisex fingerless gloves perfect for transitioning from winter to spring. Beginners will focus on mastering basic patterns while more experienced knitters will learn to personalize their gloves. Hot chocolate will be provided to all.
At Arlo SoHo, knitting classes will take place inside heated tents done up in fur throws, garland, and wooden deck furniture; at the brand’s NoMad property, participants will hone their skills on an enclosed terrace with a fireplace, twinkling lights, and wood chests. Both are equally as hygge'd out.
And not only will you walk away with a gorgeous pair of gloves — you’ll also leave with a goodie bag filled with chocolate from New York’s Fine + Raw and Mast Brothers.
Who’s excited for Monday?!
