Denverites love that not far from downtown you can find yourself in the mountains, but that geographic detail can make choosing a hotel difficult since the gateway to the city — Denver International Airport — is located in the other direction.

Denver International Airport (DIA) is located about 25 miles east of downtown Denver, and within those 25 miles are many different options. But there’s a sweet spot that offers easy access to the transportation hub, the nearby mountains, and of course, urban Denver.

DIA is notorious for afternoon delays — so when you’re selecting a hotel, you’ll want it to be somewhere you won’t mind hanging out for a few extra hours. That may mean dipping into the hotel spa for a pre-flight treatment or indulging in a few microbrews before getting a cab to DIA. Whether you’re looking for a mountain resort getaway or a clean, chain hotel where you’re able to rack up loyalty points, you’ve got choices.

If you’re looking for a no-fuss hotel with easy access to the airport, you’ll find nine of the best spots in town below.

1. Westin Denver International Airport Hotel

You can’t get any closer to the terminal than this. The hotel is linked to Denver’s Jeppesen Terminal, making it the perfect place to stay if you’ve got an early departure or late arrival. Guests can do laps in the indoor pool, dine at the bistro, or browse the hotel’s collection of work by Colorado artists.

2. HYATT House Denver Airport

Hyatt House is located about five miles from the airport and also has an airport shuttle. The rooms and suites boast a clean HYATT aesthetic that will allow you to declutter your mind and relax before or after a flight.

3. Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center

This mountain resort opened in late-2018 to mirror “the epic grandeur of the Rockies” with panoramic views. There’s a full-service spa on site and it’s located less than a 15-minute drive from the airport.

4. Woolley’s Classic Suites: Denver Airport

There are only suites available at this hotel, but surprisingly without the exorbitant price tag. Woolley’s has a convivial vibe, which is surprising for an airport location. Breakfast is included and there’s a nightly cocktail reception where you can meet fellow guests. The hotel provides a free shuttle service to the airport that will get you there in about 15 minutes.

5. Aloft Denver Airport at Gateway Park

Aloft thinks of this property as an urban-minded hotel with the Rockies as a backdrop. You can communicate with hotel staff via the Aloft app or relax in the hyper-connected lounge area. The hotel is located about 11 miles from the airport.

6. Embassy Suites by Hilton Denver Stapleton

Who said airport hotel’s have to have dodgy views? The location of this Embassy Suites means that many of the hotel’s rooms have panoramic views of downtown Denver and the Rocky Mountains.

When it’s time to get to and from the airport, the hotel’s free shuttle will get you there in eight minutes.

7. Hampton Inn Denver International Airport

Call the hotel once you arrive and they’ll pick you up at the airport and have you in the lobby within 10 minutes. One under-rated value of this hotel is that check-in time starts at 3 p.m. while checkout isn’t until noon, meaning in most cases, you won’t have to wait around for your room to be cleaned or stow your luggage early in the morning.

8. Holiday Inn Denver International Airport

It’s not a trip to Colorado without enjoying some microbrews. This Holiday Inn has an on-site sports bar with more than 40 craft beers represented, so you can make even a short layover in Denver count. The 24-hour shuttle service will get you to the airport in about 15 minutes.

9. Hyatt Regency Aurora - Denver Conference Center

This 249-room hotel is located halfway between downtown Denver and the airport, a perfect homebase for either. Take advantage of the clean Colorado air and swim in the outdoor pool or dine on the open terrace.
