You Can Now Spend the Night in a Pineapple Near the Sea
Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? You! The soon-to-open Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Punta Cana just unveiled renderings of the property’s much-anticipated Pineapple Villa, inspired by the famed home of SpongeBob SquarePants.
What can you expect from the fruity accommodations? The 2-bedroom, 3-bath presidential suite includes a garden, patio, infinity pool, and private butlers. And of course, it features design elements from the popular cartoon like a special foyer that’s a replica of 124 Conch Street.
“Inspired by SpongeBob SquarePants’ own home in Bikini Bottom, Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Punta Cana’s most anticipated suite is as stylish as it is playful and will allow you to be a hero to your kids while still enjoying the ultimate in upscale vacationing,” Armando Chomat, Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Karisma Hotels & Resorts, told Travel + Leisure via email. Though it’s not under the water in Bikini Bottom, the whimsical accommodations are near the ocean, as the new resort is perched on Uvero Alto beach in the Dominican Republic. And clearly the resort is totally geared toward kids having fun and parents kicking back because the hotel provides strollers, toys—even formula.
Rates for a slice of the cartoon dream world start at $3,800 per night for up to four adults and two children or two adults and six children and include all gourmet meals.
