Holly Monahan is an expert on luxury tours, arts and culture, and Thailand (where she used to live). Today, she makes frequent trips back to Southeast Asia to stay up to date on the latest offerings and uses this intel to organize personalized tours for luxury travelers eager to go off the beaten path. While she'll happily plan a trip around popular hits like Bangkok and UNESCO World Heritage sites, Holly’s real skill lies in matching clients' passions with places they won't find in brochures. Prior to launching her tour company, Ilex Luxury Travel, in 2017, Holly worked as a luxury travel consultant and spent more than a decade organizing the logistics for corporate seminars and events. She’s also worked as a cultural client liaison at Lithodomos, which offers historically-accurate virtual recreations of ancient sites, and as a senior travel curator at Origin. After a long stint as a New Yorker, she now spends most of her time abroad — sightseeing, experiencing hotels, and absorbing cultures.
