If you're looking for a unique way to ring in the new decade, you can't do much better than perched on Crockett Mountain, roughly 1,800-feet above sea-level in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
This year, the park—which features what is said to be North America's longest pedestrian bridge—will host quite the New Year's Eve bash for 400 lucky guests. The park's inaugural viewing party of the city's annual New Year’s Eve Ball Drop and Fireworks will give ticket holders the best view in town of the action. In addition to exclusive after-hours access at the SkyLift Park (which is made up of SkyBridge, SkyDeck, and SkyCenter), attendees will get the chance to take in the park's remarkable winter evening, "Lights Over Gatlinburg." They'll also enjoy continued access to the park on New Year's Day from 9 a.m. until close at 10 p.m. (weather permitting). Starting at around 10 p.m. on New Year's Eve, guests will begin to take the yellow SkyLift chairs up the mountain until the viewing party wraps up at 12:30 a.m..
Whether visitors choose to enjoy their New Year's Eve countdown from the SkyBridge, SkyDeck, or SkyCenter, they will enjoy sweeping views of downtown Gatlinburg. Food (hot pretzels, pizza, nachos, and more snacks) and drinks (hot chocolate, coffee, cappuccino, etc.) will be available for purchase in the SkyCenter. On the second level of the SkyCenter, there is a bar which will be selling beer to the 21+ set (stick around and grab a spot on the viewing deck here for one the best vantage points of fireworks-viewing). Event tickets can be reserved here for $49.95 per person, excluding tax. As of December 12th, Gatlinburg SkyLift Park had around 200 tickets remaining.
For those who can't swing a trip to Gatlinburg for the celebration, Gatlinburg SkyPark will also host a Facebook Live on the Gatlinburg SkyLift Park Facebook page to live stream the evening's festivities for everyone to watch. Free admission, epic views, and the comfort and warmth of your own living room? We'll take it.
