Mary J. Blige Now Has Her Own Wine Collection — and It's Perfect for Summer
The Grammy Award-winning, Oscar-nominated singer, songwriter, actress, producer and philanthropist, Mary J. Blige, has teamed up with Fantinel Winery in order to bring a new line of wines that are absolutely made for sipping in the summer sunshine.
Sun Goddess Wines is an exclusive collection of limited-edition wines that feature bold, crisp, and rich flavors. The new collection has two very drinkable varieties: Italian Pinot Grigio Ramato (a rosé) and an Italian Sauvignon Blanc. The Sun Goddess name harkens back to Blige’s own “childhood memories with her mother and an endless love for the warmth and energy of the sun,” it said in a statement from Fantinel Winery.
“After walking through the vineyards and tasting with the Fantinel family, I felt extremely connected to the place, and more importantly, the people,” said Blige in the statement. “In that moment, I felt the same magical energy I have long tried to capture from the sun and knew this was an incredible opportunity to partner with someone who shared that passion and together we could try to create something that evoked that feeling.”
The Pinot Grigio Ramato is a delightful pink, and has a full-bodied flavor with an elegantly crisp finish with hints of peach, melon and blackberry scents. The Sauvignon Blanc, made from only the best Sauvignon Blanc grapes harvested from the foothills of the Dolomite mountain, has an aromatic flavor and velvety smoothness.
“Mary is a fan of Pinot Grigio. She visited our winery in harvest time and when she was holding in her hands a bunch of Pinot Grigio 'red grapes' a sort of magical connection was created that gave birth to the idea of producing together a rosé wine,” said Marco Fantinel, the company’s CEO. Sun Goddess Pinot Grigio Ramato also achieved a Gold Medal in The Global Rosé Masters 2020 competition.
The Sun Goddess Collection wines have a suggested retail price of $19.99 and are available as of Monday, June 29, for pre-sale on Wine.com. Sun Goddess wines will be available for purchase in-stores nationwide in August 2020.
