The Lone Star State is famous for a lot of things — Stetson hats, the Alamo, an obsession with things being “bigger” — and one of those things is delicious tacos. Practically anywhere you go the state has some top-notch Tex-Mex (it’s in the name, after all), and taco trucks as far as the eye can see. And if you’ve ever wanted to make your own tacos as good as the ones in Texas, the Lone Star State has your back. As many restaurants have closed due to the coronavirus outbreak, people are cooking more at home. But that doesn’t mean our cravings for our favorite restaurants have stopped. Travel Texas now has the perfect way to soothe your taco cravings while staying at home. The tourism authority has launched a series of videos that will go live on Tuesdays and teach you how to make the best tacos ever. The series kicked off with Chef Mo Assi of Crush Taco in Frisco on Tuesday, April 21. If you want to follow along on future videos, you can easily do so by following Travel Texas on Instagram. Travel Texas will share posts detailing what ingredients you’ll need ahead of each video. Many other local chefs are planned to participate, including Chef Lanny Lancarte of Righteous Foods in Fort Worth, Chef Alex Padilla of Ninfa's in Houston, and Chef Fernando Herrera Aguilar of Das Peach Haus in Fredericksburg. In addition, all of these video posts will direct people to the Texas Restaurant Association Relief Fund, which works to provide immediate assistance to independently owned restaurants and saving as many service industry jobs as possible during this difficult time. For more information, visit the Travel Texas website or follow them on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. And if your chef-inspired tacos are not enough to soothe your Tex-Mex cravings, try watching this eight-hour time-lapse video of queso as well. Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback!
