As a child, chef Daniel Eddy (formerly of Spring, the lauded Parisian restaurant, and now at the French-inspired Rebelle in New York City) spent many summers on Martha's Vineyard. "It provided me with such an incredible array of experiences, from farms to fishing docks to the woods to the ocean," he says. "The island has some of the best products I have come across, and some of the kindest, most passionate hard working people I have met in my life." Here, he shares an ideal food day in the beach town.

"Chef Dan Sauer and his wife Wenonah Madison opened up 7A Foods (below) in West Tisbury in 2011. After their Cheddar Jalapeño Biscuit with local egg and homemade breakfast sausage, no other breakfast sandwiches will be able to compare. Coffee from Chilmark Coffee Company is brewed with care here, providing a perfect start to the day."

"Head down to Larson's fish market in Menemsha for lunch, bring some beers and sit on the dock while you eat all of the bounty: steamed lobster, mussels, steamers with drawn butter, and corn on the cob."

"At the Outermost Inn (below), in Aquinnah, Hugh and Jeanne Taylor provide amazing hospitality and one of the most beautiful sunset views on the island. The kitchen offers a simple three-course menu, highlighting some of the wonderful things the island has to offer."

"Mad Martha's is an iconic place in Martha's Vineyard. With its history and all the ice cream flavors they offer, it's a great place to check out. Don't miss their specials on the boards, including crazy ones like the "Oink"—12 scoops of ice cream and two bananas, topped with nuts, cherries, and whipped cream."

Late night:
"Back Door Donuts in Oak Bluffs is the late night spot. Wait in line and enjoy a midnight snack!"
