You Could Get Paid $1,000 a Day to Make and Taste Pizzas From the Comfort of Your Own Home
If you love pizza, you could get paid up to $1,000 a day to make and taste the treat.
Outdoor cookware company Ooni (previously known as Uuni), is looking for 10 pizza taste testers to create and taste pizzas made from the company’s two different portable wood-fired pizza ovens, the Uuni 3 and the Uuni Pro.
The 10 hired folks, who will work on a part-time, freelance basis with the company, will be able to use the ovens, which can cook 13-inch and 16-inch pizzas in just 60 seconds, to come up with their own pizza concoctions and to taste and deliver feedback on the company’s new products.
Compensation will vary based on each person’s experience, with a daily rate that ranges from $300 to $1,000 for the most experienced candidates.
While that’s a big gap in terms of what you can earn, the Ooni team explained they have a method to determining compensation rates.
“We’ve set the base rate at $300, because we understand that developing one’s ability to make fantastic pizza takes time and energy to hone your craft; this rate would be appropriate for someone who is a passionate home cook who hasn’t worked professionally, and who understands how to make and stretch their own dough,” a representative from Ooni told Travel + Leisure.
Beyond that, candidates who can expect the higher $1,000 a day rates might include people who have added skill sets like filming high quality video content and cooks who have worked at cooking demonstrations for large crowds.
Responsibilities will include a combination of recipe development, product testing, and even working as a brand ambassador for the brand by showcasing its products both through social media and at live events. Ooni will directly ship its ovens to each candidate, as well as covering expenses for any ingredients used for recipe testing.
In addition, there are no set number of days chosen testers will be required to work, though the company is hoping to find people willing to work at least two days a month at a schedule of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a one-hour break for lunch in between. Taste testers can also be based anywhere around the world as this will be a work-from-home position.
Those who are interested are asked to submit a video of up to one minute and no larger than 20 MB explaining why they're right for the position and showcasing their pizza skills to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Applications are open through Sunday, Oct. 14, and the chosen individuals will be contacted shortly after.
