Toast of the Town: The Jalapeño Popper
The Boca Raton Resort & Club is spicing things up.
Bars across the country are bringing the heat, all competing to find new ways to satiate a growing desire for spicy cocktails. The Boca Raton Resort & Club’s Jalapeño Popper is pushing the boundaries of this trend with a perfect balance of pepper and tequila.
“We wanted something unique that displayed our ability to make memorable experiences,” said the resort’s Director of Beverage Eric Hammer. “On a scale of one to five, it’s a good three and a half to four. It’s not hot enough where you can’t drink it, but it leaves your mouth tingling. It’s our number one seller and we make it in-house. The fact that people are responding to it in this way means a lot.”
3/4 oz. House Infused Chile Don Julio
1/4 oz. Agave Nectar
3/4 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
4 oz. Peroni
Combine tequila, agave, and lime in a pint glass. Add ice and shake at least 20 times. Pour over fresh ice into a glass. Top with Peroni and garnish with three sliced jalapenos.
