Get Wine, Beer, Liquor, and Snacks Delivered in Under an Hour With Saucey (Video)

White Claw, red wine, and whiskey are among the most popular choices for alcohol delivery right now.

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced most of us to spend more time inside, trading our nights out at restaurants and bars for takeout and delivery on the couch. Nowadays, you can get nearly anything delivered on demand — even beer, wine, and liquor. We chatted with Saucey co-founder and CEO Chris Vaughn about the growing trends in alcohol delivery across the United States. According to Vaughn, Saucey’s sales are significantly higher now than they were in the past — proof that delivery services are in higher demand now more than ever. With average delivery times less than 40 minutes (typically ranging from 29 to 36 minutes), you can get your beer, wine, or liquor of choice in under an hour with Saucey.

Even though Saucey is available in cities across the country, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Chicago make up about 75 percent of total sales. Customers in these cities tend to gravitate toward beer, cider, hard seltzers, red wine, whiskey, and scotch, while those in New York order the most cocktails and combinations. The White Claw variety pack is the number-one hard seltzer in Los Angeles and Chicago, and White Claw mango is the top-selling flavor in San Francisco.

Even though the love for White Claw is seemingly universal, beer tastes vary by city, according to Saucey’s data. Lagunitas IPA is the number-one beer in San Francisco, while Miller Lite is most popular in Chicago and Modelo Especial reigns supreme in Los Angeles. Bogle Cabernet Sauvignon is the most-ordered red wine in Los Angeles and San Francisco. For whiskey and scotch, customers in San Francisco and Chicago prefer Jameson Irish Whiskey, while folks in Los Angeles go for Bulleit Bourbon Frontier Whiskey.

And people aren’t just buying drinks for themselves — Saucey’s gifting sales have increased 15 times, meaning people are purchasing alcohol delivery for friends and family to brighten their day while maintaining a healthy social distance. Send a bottle of Champagne for a friend’s birthday, surprise your parents with their favorite wine, or even do a Zoom happy hour swap, where you and a friend or date buy each other surprise drinks to enjoy together via video chat.

In addition to alcoholic beverages, you can get mixers, snacks, and even over-the-counter medicines like Tylenol on the platform, making it a one-stop shop when you need something fast, but don’t want to leave your place.
