Australian Chain Offering Blue-Bunned Sandwich Meant to Match X-Men Mutants
And, no, it's not organic.

Remember when foods were the color they're supposed to be? If so, you are probably old and, by definition, lame. Nowadays, foods are supposed to be the same bizarre color of your favorite superhero – even if that superhero is a mutant who’s color is rarely seen in the natural world, let alone something you’re supposed to eat.
Thus is the logic of Australian chain Ribs and Burgers (by the name of it, they don’t sound bad at all) who is honoring the Blu-ray release of X-Men: Apocalypse by offering up a chicken sandwich with a distinctly blue bun meant to match the skin tone of X-Men characters Mystique and Nightcrawler.
In a world where everyone seems to be obsessed with everything organic, why people would be attracted to a bright blue bun meant to emulate a literal mutant seems a bit bizarre – but for the record, it does look pretty cool. The seeded bun features a deep blue, nearly black crust, that when sliced or bitten into is a very vivid blue. And keeping with the blue theme, this blue-bunned chicken Sammy also features bleu cheese which shouldn’t hurt its taste.
But before you get all up in arms over the prospect of a chicken sandwich with a blue bun – either in favor or against the mutant creation – be aware that not only is this offering only available in the far off island-continent of Australia, it’s only being offered in limited numbers for one day only... today. Which if I understand how the globe works is practically yesterday Australia time.
The rest of us will just have to gawk at the images. And, I don’t know, buy the X-Men: Apocalypse Blu-ray? That’s the whole point of this ridiculous stunt, right?
