Mahanakhon Bangkok SkyBar, Thailand’s highest restaurant and bar, is now open at Bangkok’s King Power Mahanakhon, also known as the tallest building in Thailand. The new restaurant is on the 76th and 77th floors (at the very top) of the famous building, providing a breathtaking view of the landscape and the busy city of Bangkok below. The restaurant, designed by Wilson Associates, is laden with elegant wood panels, floor-to-ceiling windows, a marble bar, an outdoor “jungle” inspired area, and tiny details like French antique books, Japanese ceramic pottery, and an impressively large sculpture of a bull’s head. Mahanakhon Bangkok SkyBar is a “modern brasserie” that specializes in both Asian and Western cuisines created by Executive Chef Joshua Cameron. Some delectable entrees include whole stuffed free-range chicken, Australian lamb chops, and Ayutthaya river prawns. In addition, guests can choose from over 100 curated wines (with an emphasis on natural wines) and a wide array of classic cocktails like an Aperol spritz, negronis, or even an espresso martini. “This new milestone is a result of our passion in creating an exceptional dining destination and key landmark within a location that truly celebrates the city,” said Marc Begassat, Managing Director of King Power Mahanakhon, in a statement. “We look forward to welcoming local and international visitors to King Power Mahanakhon as we continue to add unique attractions to Thailand’s tourism landscape”.
