The weather outside may still be frightful, but this airfare sale from Norwegian is more than delightful.
On Monday, Norwegian Airlines announced a sale on airfare to the Caribbean with some one-way tickets from New York City going for as low as $59. According to MarketWatch, flights include routes from New York to the islands of Martinique or Guadeloupe. But that’s not all. The airline is also offering steep deals on flights from Providence, Rhode Island or Stewart Airport in New York to Dublin for just $99 one way.
But, like all good things, this too comes with a bit of fine print: The flights are just for one-way fares and return fares may run above $100. Additionally, the tickets are likely only to be good for travel between Jan. 14 and March 31.
If Dublin or the Caribbean isn’t quite doing it for you, hold tight, as experts believe there are still more good deals to be had.
“The period from now through the middle of February (when school vacations start) is arguably the cheapest time to fly not just within the US but everywhere,” George Hobica, the founder of airfare deals site AirfareWatchdog, said in a statement. Moreover, the travel app Hopper predicts January will also see a 3.2 percent drop in domestic round-trip flight prices, which could translate to an average price of $220.
“The winter period is starting with low prices through January, but we expect prices to rise after that, starting in February to $235 round-trip. Prices will gradually rise through the winter and spring until peaking in June, likely around $260 round-trip,” Patrick Surry, the chief data scientist at Hopper, added in the statement.
As for why all the deals are happening this month, Gabe Saglie, an editor and anchor at Travelzoo noted that January is the month we are all “getting back to reality, not thinking about a vacation.” This creates more need for deals so people buy. “The result is some of the best airfare, hotel and vacation package pricing we’ll see all year,” Saglie noted.
So, why not go take advantage of the low prices and book your dream spring break trip now?
