Emirate’s unbeatable 2-for-1 airfare sale is back, making it possible for travelers to take a companion, for free, on a dream trip to Milan, Italy.

Round-trip economy class ticket pairs are on sale for $899 from August 19-22, on flights departing from John F. Kennedy International Airport. That’s $450 per person, for travel from September 16 to December 13, December 24-27, and January 10 to April 10, 2017.

You may not be able to spend Christmas or New Year’s Eve in Milan, but you could get there in time for Fashion Week (late September and February) or the SMAU international tech conference in October.

If you're looking to splurge, Emirates' Business Class companion fares start at $3,999 round-trip (or $1,999.50 per person). Expect private sleep cubicles in the lounge, and a three-course dining experience onboard.

Companion tickets are also available from $1,099 to $1,369 for departure cities including Boston, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Orlando, San Diego, and San Francisco. Flights will connect via New York City to Milan. For more booking details, go to Emirates' website.

There’s really no better time to take a trip to Milan. The city was revamped for the 2015 World Expo: The Duomo got a deep clean, and a new Rem Koolhaas-designed exhibition space has arrived. Everywhere you look, you’ll discover that the ancient city is full of hidden treasures.
