It’s always possible to enjoy a free stopover in Iceland when flying with Icelandair (the country’s flag carrier allows travelers to visit for as many as seven days on the way to or from the final destination).

But it’s not every day you can do so for only $357 round-trip. According to The Flight Deal, tickets to London from New York City are on sale for flights between November and early December, or between mid-January and mid-March.

And you won’t pay a penny more to extend your time in Iceland from a quick layover to a full-on vacation.

While The Flight Deal uses a Matrix airfare search to find cheap flights, travelers can also look at Google Flights’ low-fare calendar. If you’re simply interested in an affordable flight to England, Norwegian Air Shuttle is serving comparable flights with nonstop service.

Travelers should note, however, that Icelandair’s fares include one complimentary checked bag. The airline has also been known to offer Stopover Buddies — locals who will take visitors to the country’s lesser-known and off-the-beaten-path locations, free of charge.
