As Disneyland Resort prepares for the Disney 100 Years of Wonder Celebration, the company has announced an opening date for the re-imagined expansion of Mickey’s Toontown.

Opening on March 8 of next year, guests will be able to take advantage of new interactive play areas and reimagined favorites. Geared toward families and their littlest park goers, “Mickey’s Toontown will become a vibrant symphony of sights, sounds and sensations very soon,” Disney Parks shared in a blog post.

The opening will introduce some all-new experiences including CenTOONIAL Park right at the land's entrance. This will feature two interactive play experiences, a sensory friendly fountain designed for play, and a tree with sculpted roots designed for crawl and exploration.

“Mickey’s Toontown will provide open, grassy play spaces for everyone to unwind,” Disney shares.

Other new experiences include Goofy’s How-to Play Yard, “dedicated to all things play” and complete with a whimsical sound garden, and Donald’s Duck Pond, designed to “help little ones get the wiggles out” with interactive water features.

Reimagined attractions include Chip ‘n’ Dale’s GADGETcoaster, a “one-of-a kind, fun-sized coaster for the town’s tiniest citizens.” Inside Goofy’s House, guests will now find a “fun, interactive candy-making contraption that only Goofy could imagine,” while Donald’s Boat will feature portholes that will allow guests to interact with Huey, Dewey, Louie, and Webby.

Guests will also experience returning favorites, like Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin, and self-guided tours through Mickey’s house and Minnie’s house. Mickey and Minnie meet and greets will also be returning, Disney confirmed.

The land will also feature two new dining locations. Café Daisy will serve up “diner classics at her sidewalk table eatery.” At Toontown Farmers Market at Good Boy! Grocers, guests can appease their appetites at the “friendly roadside stand” with treats and grab-and-go drinks.

Guests will get a first look at Mickey’s Toontown when Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway — a ride that is also in Disney’s Hollywood Studios — opens on Jan. 27, 2023.
