After a lengthy closure due to renovation, the park will be reopening with updates inspired by the beloved film “Frozen,” according to a Disney Blog post shared on Tuesday. Among the additions, kid-friendly land, Tike’s Peak, will see the addition of Olaf, Elsa, and Anna’s igloo castle, and statuettes of the adorable Snowgie pals from the beloved film among its polar-themed slides and wading pool. The water park will also have an “enhanced holiday atmosphere,” according to Disney. These limited time holiday offerings will run through Dec. 31 and include a daily snowfall, holiday music, tropical clad Santa, festive inner tubes, and seasonal food and beverage. Yuletide inspired treats include a peppermint milkshake and Orange Bird Santa cone. The popular paradise themed to a winter wonderland features family-friendly attractions, like a lazy river, waterslides, a beach-themed chair lift, and a heated one-acre wave pool. Thrill seekers admire its beacon, "Mount Gushmore," home to the tallest and fastest free fall body slide in Central Florida. A separate ticket is required with 1-day park admission priced at $69. A park-hopper plus add-on option is available to theme park tickets. Transportation is complimentary to all Walt Disney World resort guests and at this time, park reservations are not required to visit Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park. Changes also come to its several dining and beverage venues, including new Frozen-themed menu items, Disney shared in a press release. Food favorites, like the Ice Cream Sand Pail Sundae, will return along with new menu items, like a savory cajun shrimp and grits. Disney’s other water park, Typhoon Lagoon, is currently open at Disney World but will be closing for refurbishment on Nov 13. A reopening date has not yet been announced. Was this page helpful?
