T+L Summer Shortlist: San Diego's Beer Scene
The official start of summer is just a few short weeks away, which means there’s one thing we at Travel + Leisure must do: share our Summer Shortlist of the most epic places to visit during the hottest months of the year.
This year’s list is full of places that are heating up in travel. So where should you go first? How about San Diego, California?
There’s something for just about everyone in San Diego, but it is without a doubt a beer lover’s paradise. With more than 130 different breweries calling the city home, there’s certainly plenty of variety to try along the way.
But while you’re in the area, make sure to stop in at Nopalito Farm, an eight-acre certified organic farm located just outside the city limits. There, the family-owned farm grows avocados, lemons, and other fruits and vegetables, along with hops that are used in a ton of local breweries. And, because of the farm’s location, the family is able to get hops from the field to the tank in as little as four hours, meaning the beer will be fresher than fresh.
Check out more on the farm and all of San Diego’s beer scene in the video above.
