David Ransom and his wife did something many of us dream of doing: quit their jobs and traveled the world. And to top it off they made an epic video documenting one second of every day of their six-month journey.

“My wife and I came to this stage in life where we had to figure out if we wanted to settle down and have kids or should we do something more exciting,” David told Travel + Leisure. “So, we decided to do the latter.” The couple saved some money over the three years we were living together in the U.S. and decided to just go for it and travel. “We quit our jobs in December and left in January,” he added. “We went all over Southeast Asia, Australia, and Japan.”

The idea for the video came after David saw a TED Talk by Cesar Kuriyama on capturing one second of every day. “He inspired me. I thought it would be so great to do with our travels,” he noted. “I just used my phone to capture the moments and put it together over time.”

Moments include riding on an airplane, hitting the slot machines, taking a cooking class, ringing prayer bells, and visiting some of the world's top attractions. “I hope this inspires people to do a similar thing themselves,” concluded David. “Whether it’s traveling or just finding special moments every day.”

Next up, the duo has three months of cross country travel in the U.S. ahead of them. And, lucky for us, they plan on adding to their existing video.
