Last year, Freeform (formerly ABC Family), changed the classic ;13 Days of Halloween program to last a full 31 days, and at the Walt Disney Television Upfront presentation this past May, the network announced several exciting new plans for the iconic program that has us setting our DVRs.

While we don't have the full 2019 schedule yet, perhaps the most exciting news is that Hocus Pocus will air a record 27 times during the month—that's almost once per day! The classic film, which aired in the summer of 1993, celebrated its silver anniversary last year with Freeform's Hocus Pocus 25th Anniversary Extravaganza, so we're excited to learn that the Sanderson sisters aren't going anywhere this year. (While you wait for the film to hit your TV screen, you can shop Spirit Halloween's new Hocus Pocus line and stock up on all the Binx-inspired merchandise you can dream of.)

There's also exciting news for fans of Ghostbusters: This year, the fan-favorite flick is celebrating its 25-year anniversary, and Freeform announced they will be airing a Ghostbusters anniversary special. There's no official word on what day the special will hit airwaves, but you can plan to watch the original Ghostbusters followed by Ghostbusters 2. Count us in!

The month-long program starts October 1 and like last year, will run through Halloween night with at least four scheduled movie times each day. We know the classics like Hocus Pocus, The Addams Family, Ghostbusters, and The Nightmare Before Christmas will be shown regularly, and you can count on all six of last year's Freeform premieres making second appearances. Maleficent, Warm Bodies, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Decorating Disney: Halloween Magic, Hotel Transylvania, and The Witches of Eastwick all aired on the network for the first time last October, and we expect to see them back again in 2019.

We'll be the first to let you know when the full schedule is released, so check back before you start planning your Halloween movie nights. We're already counting down the days until October!
