Two 'Outlander' Actors Are Pairing Up For a Travel Show About Scotland

Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham will air is coming to Starz.

Two stars from the hit Starz show Outlander are trading time travel for actual travel in their new series.

According to Town & Country Magazine, stars Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish are launching a brand new travel series called Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham. This new show will focus on travel in Scotland and will also air on Starz.

Heughan and McTavish (who play Jamie Fraser and Dougal MacKenzie, respectively, in Outlander, which also films in Scotland where the show takes place) are both native Scots and travel enthusiasts. The pair originally set out to do a podcast called Clan Lands, Town & Country reported, but the idea ended up being picked up as a television show. The name also changed in the midst of production.

“I wanted to do a podcast in my spare time, and I thought I'd shoot some visuals for it,” Heughan told Oprah Magazine. “The more I was getting into producing it, it's the first thing I’d produced, and I really enjoyed it. So I decided to make it into a TV show! We've finished shooting and dare I say, I think it looks really fun.”

The show will delve into the history, culture, and landscape of Scotland from the point of view of the two men. “The series gives context and texture to Highland life and history, woven together, much like the tartan for which Scotland is so famous, and we look forward to taking this road trip with these two great friends,” said Christina Davis, President of original programming for Starz, in a statement, according to Town & Country.

The release date is not yet known, but there is a new trailer for the series out now. Even if you aren’t an Outlander fan, it is sure to inspire some wanderlust. The show has also been posting some behind the scenes content on Instagram and Twitter, for those who are too eager to wait for the full show to arrive.
