While everyone is being encouraged to stay at home in order to combat the spread of coronavirus, one of the ever-present issues seems to be how to stay entertained when you can’t go out, have parties, or socialize in-person. But if you’re a movie buff, you can find lots of movies and TV shows online. And now, Lionsgate Movies is about to make it way easier to find them — for free. According to Time Out, Lionsgate has launched a new series of livestream events called Lionsgate Live! A Night At The Movies. This event series will livestream some of the company’s best loved movies on Friday nights in April and May. And as a bonus, the event will be hosted by the incomparable Jamie Lee Curtis as well as other “special guest celebrities and YouTube personalities,” according to a company statement, Time Out reported. Getty Images On Friday, April 17, the series will stream "The Hunger Games," in case you’re really craving a dystopian fantasy story. Classic Swayze film "Dirty Dancing" is slated for April 24, and Oscar-winning film "La La Land" is scheduled on May 1. Action flick "John Wick" is scheduled for May 8. Each livestream will go up on Fridays at 9 p.m. ET on the Lionsgate Movies YouTube channel and the Fandango Movieclips YouTube Channel, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Audience participation for these events is encouraged, but you can also just enjoy a good movie as well. In addition to providing some special, much-needed entertainment on a Friday night, Lionsgate is also encouraging people to donate to the Will Rogers Foundation, which is currently supporting theater professionals who have lost work during the coronavirus crisis.
