This New Show Combines Disney and Cooking for a Family-friendly Competition
A new Disney-inspired cooking competition hosted by Angela Kinsey is coming to Disney+ this month.
Be Our Chef, a new family cooking competition show, is coming to Disney+ this month. In the series, five families will compete to create the best Disney-inspired dishes.
In each of the 11 episodes, two of the five families will face off in a cooking challenge, where they get to show off their culinary skills and favorite flavors while creating delicious, Disney-themed food. The families will go to different areas in the Disney parks, visiting iconic attractions and meeting beloved characters before whipping up a dish inspired by their experiences. The final two families will compete in the finale to have their creation served at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

This new show is hosted by Angela Kinsey, best known for her role as Angela Martin in The Office. After honing her chef skills in YouTube videos with her husband on their channel Baking With Josh & Ange, she’s combining her love of cooking and family as the host of Be Our Chef. In an interview with Travel + Leisure, Angela told us all about the new show and her favorite Disney memories.
If you love Disney, there’s plenty to look forward to in this series, according to Angela. Each challenge in the show is inspired by a part of the park — in one episode, the families went to Epcot to visit The Land and to Magic Kingdom to visit Moana for inspiration for a dish that combined both land and sea. “I loved seeing the families come together,” Angela noted when asked about her favorite parts of filming.
Agreeing to do this show was a “no-brainer” because Angela and her family love visiting Disneyland and Disney World. Their favorite rides include Soarin’ and Frozen Ever After, and Angela loves Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge — she says exploring that land made her feel like a kid again. For a snack, Angela always grabs a Mickey pretzel, and as far as souvenirs go, she loves the mouse ears. She also picked up a Mickey holiday backpack for her park trips this past November and December.
