New York’s City’s Free Lowdown Hudson Music Fest Starts Tomorrow
New York City’s downtown Waterfront Plaza turns out to be the ideal venue for the summer’s annual Lowdown Hudson Music Festival. Concert-goers can dance by the space by the stage, or relax along the various tables and walkways for the show, taking in views of the ships and neighboring boroughs while listening to the live music.
This year’s festival offers an impressive two-day line-up: Southwestern crooner Ryan Bingham (who co-wrote the award-winning theme song to the 2009 film Crazy Heart) and mid-Atlantic reggae-inflected rockers O.A.R. kick things off on Tuesday, July 14.
The next night, improvisational rock-gospel supergroup The Word (which features all three members of the North Mississippi Allstars) and the blues-tinged Wood Brothers play. Both nights are free and no tickets required. For more information on time and location, check out the website.
