Opera fans heading to NYC for the holidays are in luck: The Metropolitan Opera is hosting a sale perfect for families looking for a dose of culture this season. For performances from Thanksgiving through December 30th, patrons 18 and younger can get a ticket to any holiday performance at half-price. While the adults may not get anything out of this one, it's the perfect opportunity to kick off a family tradition.

To accompany the announcement, the Met has a few suggestions on what not to miss this season. Their recommendations: Puccini's Tosca, Michael Mayer's take on Verdi's Rigoletto, and/or Zeffirelli's production of Puccini's La Bohème (which opens November 23rd). For more information on this season's productions, head on over to the Metropolitan Opera website.
