First things first, we live in a world where switching careers is relatively easy and people actually make a living traveling the world taking photographs. Hopefully that makes the forthcoming news a little easy to digest.

Considering all of the advance in technology we see on a daily basis, it's not hard to assume that some jobs are quickly becoming obsolete. CareerCast—a website dedicated to helping people explore new opportunities—recently shared their take on the Bureau of Labor Statistics' annual data. With it came a list of titles that may be seeing their last job opening listings in the near future.

At No. 1 is mail carrier, which is expected to dip 28 percent before 2024, or a 136,000 employee loss, according to CareerCast. In a world where texting trumps phone calls and snail mail, we can thank our change in communication habits for this transition. CareerCast also recognizes the change in how we incorporate automation into the sorting and processing tasks of delivering mail as a part of this change, as well.

Automation is something that can be felt for a number of the jobs listed below: typist, meter reader, DJ, newspaper reporters, broadcasters. Read on and find out if your job made the list. Remember: the world is full of amazing opportunities.
