Anaheim, in the heart of Southern California’s sunny Orange County, is far from a winter wonderland, but each year Disneyland makes the attempt to bring a bit of that holiday magic nonetheless. The displays are over-the-top; the execution pristine.

Need proof? Have a look at the transformation in the hyperlapse video, above. Here Christmas lights get strung along Main Street, giant star-topped trees sprout up on corners, and the Haunted Mansion gets a heavy shake of Christmas cheer.

Hop on the Jingle Cruise (that’s the Jungle Cruise at other times of the year), see Frontierland filled with lights, and head over to the World of Color, which rolls out a holiday-themed show filled with wintery moments from your favorite cartoons. Even the stores are stocked with holiday treats like gingerbread men, Yule logs, candy apples covered in snowflakes, and funnel cakes loaded with red and green sprinkles.
