Celebrate Christmas in July Next Year by Sailing From Hungary to Germany on a Luxury River Cruise
Uniworld wants to give you a Christmas cruise do-over next summer.
Christmas in 2020 is certainly going to be different, so why not give yourself a do-over in 2021?
The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in many people across the globe opting to stay home instead of traveling for the holiday season. That also means many families are scaling back their Christmas celebrations.
But Uniworld Boutique River Cruises is offering a unique way to make up for the lost time. The river cruise company has announced a new “Christmas in July” itinerary, which sets sail along the Danube River. So if you need a holiday do-over, this is a truly luxurious way to do it.
Guests will be able to ring in the holiday season a little early (or late, depending on how you see it). The eight-day itinerary sets sail from Budapest, Hungary and travels to Passau, Germany. Along the way, guests will also be able to shop at traditional European Christmas markets — which were largely closed for the holiday season due to the pandemic.
Aboard the S.S. Maria Theresa, guests will be greeted with festive holiday decor and enjoy themed activities throughout the week, including holiday cocktail mixology classes, gingerbread house decorating, ornament making, taking a picture with Santa in front of a tree, and more. Holiday movie favorites will be playing in the onboard cinema as well. The ship’s restaurant and bar will be serving up special holiday cuisine and holiday drinks such as frozen hot chocolate and chilled eggnog.
The itinerary departs from Budapest on July 11 and lands in Passau on July 18, with stops in Vienna, Salzburg, and more. After all, it’s important to keep the Christmas spirit all year round, and that’s pretty easy to do on a luxurious cruise.
The cruise begins at $3,499, but anyone who books by Jan. 8 could save $500 per person. Children ages 4-17 can receive an additional 25% off their fares of the Christmas in July sailings.
