Princess Cruises announced the name and routes of its newest ship, the Discovery Princess, on Oct. 4. This is Princess’s largest-ever inaugural launch, and it has planned cruises to Europe, the Caribbean, and the California Coast. The Discovery Princess is also going to embark on a 50-day cruise around South America perfect for travelers hoping to explore the continent! The South America Connoisseur cruise will pick guests up in Ft. Lauderdale and stop in 18 ports before finishing the cruise in Los Angeles.

During the 50-day cruise, passengers will have plenty of time to enjoy the luxurious offerings this new ship has in store. Enjoy fine dining from Michelin-star chefs, or unwind at the spa. The Discovery Princess will feature the largest balconies at sea in its Sky Suites, which will give guests unbeatable 270-degree views of the ocean! At night, check out new Broadway-style productions at the Princess Theater. With all the amenities on board, you’ll never have to leave the ship — but you’ll want to when you see all the amazing excursions offered at port!

The South America Connoisseur will stop in several South American capital cities, like Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Lima, Peru. Thanks to Princess’s “more ashore” program, you’ll be able to enjoy the cities’ nightlife with late or overnight calls in port! This cruise will also provide travelers with the opportunity to visit 8 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the mysterious Lines and Geoglyphs of Nazca.

Other exciting excursions include penguin watching in the Falkland Islands, checking out the volcanoes in Guatemala, and visiting the Christ the Redeemer Statue in Rio de Janeiro. You can even fly to Antarctica to visit the continent’s glaciers and wild landscapes during a day trip excursion from Punta Arenas, Chile. Whether you’re sipping rum at a distillery in Martinique or visiting an Incan fortress in Peru, you’re bound to have an adventure on this new cruise.

The Discovery Princess is the cruise line’s 6th Royal-Class ship, and it will debut in Nov. 2021 for a Mediterranean and Aegean cruise. The 50-day South American Connoisseur will set sail on Jan. 6, 2022.
