Most Cabins Have a Balcony

Cabins are cheerful and cozy, with leather headboards and lots of color. Sizes range from 160 square feet for a stateroom with a window to 350 square feet for a suite with balcony and a French balcony. No need to bring that laptop: there’s an Apple computer in each room that doubles as a flat-screen TV.

The Restaurants Impress

Most meals take place in the Main Restaurant, where dinners are multicourse affairs featuring classic cruise fare and regional dishes like goulash or bratwurst. Or, you can head to the intimate Chef’s Table restaurant to watch the chef prepare the night’s tasting menu in the open kitchen.

Almost Everything Is Included

Don’t stress about your onboard tab. Coffee and soft drinks are all free during your trip, and house wine and beer are complimentary at lunch and dinner. Food, Wi-Fi, and at least one excursion per port are wrapped into the cruise rate, too. Many tours happen via bicycle. (There’s a fleet of them onboard.)

It’s (More) Family-Friendly

Like many river ships, AmaViola caters mostly to adults. But the ship has a number of connecting cabins, making them ideal for families. That comes in handy during the ship’s Adventure by Disney cruises, when Disney charters the ship for family-focused sailings.

There’s a Swim-Up Bar

After a day exploring onshore, passengers head to the top sundeck to order a cocktail at the heated pool’s swim-up bar. If you’d rather stay dry, you can sip your cocktail in a lounge chair. (There’s a covered area if you want to escape from the sun.)
