DogVacay, whose app helping travelers find vetted and insured pet sitters in their neighborhoods launched last year, has released an update with some new tricks even old dogs (and their owners) will appreciate.
The splashiest addition? VacayCam, shown in the video above, lets sitters share photos within the app, adding quirky frames, stickers, and personalized text. And to make sure that the pooches look into the lens, a range of attention-grabbing sounds are included.
Every day tips and tricks, along with a helpful FAQ also feature on the updated app. A symptom checker helps hosts identify potential issues, and, if things seem serious, a new vet finder locates the closest veterinarians and animal clinics.
An April survey from the company found that 69 percent of Americans have missed out on spur-of-the-moment getaways because they couldn’t find a kennel or sitter for their pets. DogVacay’s hoping that its updated app will change that.
