Ted Loos

Ted Loos sits at his circa 1960s Danish desk in his home in Hudson Valley writing about his first loves: food and wine. He believes that wine needs food — and good food at that — in order to truly shine. As an independent writing and editing professional, Ted’s work has been featured in The New York Times, HuffPost, The Independent, The Wall Street Journal, Travel + Leisure, Epicurious, Vogue, and Introspective magazine. He teaches readers how to decode a wine list, educates them on the next best American wine mecca (psst … it’s Idaho), and relays the details on budding art collections and not-to-miss cultural events. Ted has also authored the hardcover, coffee table book “Town & Country Wine Companion: A Tasting Guide and Journal,” which outlines geographic regions and grape varieties, and helps tasters decipher wine labels and terminology. You can often find this seasoned journalist and author tucked away in his Greek Revival home, complete with four outbuildings and situated on less than an acre, sipping on the latest vintage and crafting prose for foodies and oenophiles.
