Nicholas DeRenzo

Nicholas DeRenzo may live in Brooklyn, but his work as a travel writer and editor takes him to faraway places like Italy, Hong Kong, and Portugal. Formerly the executive editor of Hemispheres (United’s in-flight magazine), Nicholas attended travel industry conferences, wrote and edited pop culture features, and planned “perfect day” itinerary trips to various destinations. Nicholas assigned, edited, and wrote travel features and front-of-book pieces for Arthur Frommer’s Budget Travel, appeared on broadcast segments on FOX, CNN, and ABC, and spoke at international conferences. Today, Nicholas’ freelance career has landed him spots in publications like Condé Nast Traveler, BBC Travel, Travel + Leisure, New York Magazine, New York Times, Sunset, Wine Enthusiast, AARP, and American Way. Nicholas holds a bachelor’s degree in history and Slavic studies from Boston University, and a master’s degree in cultural reporting and criticism from New York University.
