Kayleigh Kulp

Kayleigh Kulp has been a writer for as long as she can remember. She won a statewide poetry contest in fifth grade, wrote for her high school newspaper, and won the best documentary award from the Virginia Associated Press Broadcasters at age 19. Her passion for journalism has taken her around the world, with one of her first travel writing jobs being as an incognito luxury hotel, spa, and restaurant evaluator for Forbes Travel Guide. Over her decade-long career as a freelance journalist, she contributed lifestyle, food, and drinks content to The Daily Beast, Travel Channel, Travel + Leisure, CNN.com, AAA Journey, Entrepreneur, Los Angeles Times, Miami Herald, Wine Enthusiast, Bust, AARP The Magazine, Wine & Spirits, and more. In 2014, she published her first book, “Booze for Babes: The Smart Woman’s Guide to Drinking Spirits Right,” one of the first of many books celebrating female distillers, bartenders, and entrepreneurs, and their contribution to drinking culture. When she’s not writing and editing, Kayleigh can usually be found scoping out new real estate and giving back to her community through organizations like the Housing Initiative Partnership, which provides rapid re-housing and mortgage counseling services, and Joe’s Movement Emporium, which offers creative, well-paying jobs to talented students.
