Immersed in road trip culture from a young age, he has always had an appreciation for traversing the country in search of national parks, roadside attractions, and unique local traditions. During a summer break while in college, Jamie set out on a road trip that turned into a two-year adventure of driving, hiking, and biking all over North America. He then began working on the book “Road Trip USA,” which first appeared in 1996 and covered highways including Route 66, Highway 50, the Pacific Coast Highway, and the old Southern Pacific Route.
