Eva Holland Eva Holland writes with frost on her eyelashes from her home vantage point in Canada’s Yukon territory. She’s a travel and outdoor essayist with work appearing in Outside, Wired, Travel + Leisure, Bloomberg, Afar, Grantland, The Walrus, Canadian Geographic, and Cottage Life. Eva is also the author of a timely book that was released mid-pandemic, “Nerve: A Personal Journey Through the Science of Fear.” Before launching into the world of bound non-fiction, Eva worked as an associate and contributing editor at Up Here, an award-winning Canadian magazine. She was also a founding contributor to Vela, an online non-fiction magazine, and the longtime editor at World Hum, where she produced travel-themed personal essays. Eva writes mostly about travel and outdoor adventure, the changes and conflicts happening in Alaska and the Canadian North, and feels most at home when she’s deep in the wilderness. Her work has been excerpted in The Best American Essays 2015 and 2013, The Best American Science and Nature Writing 2017, The Best American Travel Writing 2015, and The Best American Sports Writing 2016 and 2013 anthologies. Throughout it all, Eva has learned to overcome her own fears, while inspiring others with her writing to take a leap of faith.• 10+ years of experience writing in the outdoor and travel space• Author of the book “Nerve: A Personal Journey Through the Science of Fear” About Travel + Leisure Travel + Leisure, a Dotdash Meredith Brand, is a top travel media brand with a mission to inform and inspire passionate travelers.
