Durkhanai Ayubi Durkhanai Ayubi is a food writer and restauranteur involved in the day-to-day operations at two family-run eateries in Adelaide, Australia: Parwana and Kutchi Deli Parwana. The daughter of two Afghani refugees, Durkhanai channels her parents’ memories and recipes through her food and writing. Her work has appeared in numerous newspapers and magazines, including The Washington Post, Travel + Leisure, The Kitchn, The Telegraph, The Adelaide Review, and more. Her first cookbook, “Parwana: Recipes and Stories from an Afghan Kitchen,” explores the relationship between food, place, history, culture, and identity.
