Dominique Browning

Dominique Browning is a Rhode island-based memoirist, writer, advocate, and mother. She’s the author of three books about her personal life: “Around the House and In the Garden: a Memoir of Heartbreak, Healing, and Home Improvement,” “Paths of Desire: the Passion of a Suburban Gardener,” and “Slow Love: How I Lost my Job, Put on My Pajamas, and Found Happiness." She has also written four branded House & Garden magazine books. Dominque’s latest book recounts her layoff from Condé Nast’s House & Garden, a magazine for which she was the editor-in-chief and into which she poured her soul. Her work has also appeared in publications like Esquire, Newsweek, Wired, W, Travel + Leisure, and The New York Times Magazine. Currently, Dominique is co-founder and senior director of the Environmental Defense Fund’s Moms Clean Air Force, an education and advocacy organization fighting for clean air as a children’s health issue. On her blog, Slow Love Life, Dominique uses her content as a plea for people to carve out moments to reconnect with the world.
