Danielle Demetriou

Danielle Demetriou is a British writer and editor based in Tokyo. She moved to Japan in 2007 after nearly a decade of working at newspapers in London, including The Independent, Evening Standard, and The Telegraph. She is currently a Japan correspondent for The Daily Telegraph and Sunday Telegraph and formerly a Tokyo correspondent for Monocle magazine. Her lifestyle, design, and travel articles have appeared in publications including Condé Nast Traveller, The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, Wallpaper, Design Anthology, Kinfolk, Architectural Review, BBC, Modern Farmer, Icon, Amuse, Centurion, Departures, CNN Style, Sydney Morning Herald, Casa da Abitare, Artnews, The Guardian, and Marie Claire, among others. She writes regular columns in The Japan Times and The Mainichi Weekly News and works as an English editorial consultant for Japanese fashion magazines. Danielle also has extensive experience as a brand consultant for companies including five-star hotels, fashion brands, design studios, and luxury retailers. She has worked with the Mandarin Oriental, the Ritz-Carlton, Relais & Chateaux, and Lexus.
