Carol Kino

Carol Kino is a New York City-based journalist with more than two decades of experience covering all aspects of the art world. She’s best known for her writing in The Wall Street Journal, T, and The New York Times but contributes to many other publications. Her work has also appeared in Slate, The Atlantic, Abu Dhabi's The National, Art + Auction, Art in America, 1stdibs, Town & Country, Vogue, Domino, New York magazine, and many more. Carol started her career in the early 1990s, writing a column on New York for Modern Painters, then based in London. Soon, she was also contributing stories to The Atlantic Monthly and the newly launched Time Out New York. She also regularly wrote for art magazines, including Artnews, Art in America, and Art + Auction, where she was named a contributing editor in 2001. Today, Carol covers everything from artists, galleries, and museums to conservation, art law, and art history. Her first book, “The Fair-Haired Girls: Twin Photographers in the Golden Age of Magazines,” will be published by Scribner in 2023.
