Aric Chen

Aric Chen is an architecture and design curator and writer. He is the artistic director of Rotterdam's Het Nieuwe Instituut and a professor and founding director of the Curatorial Lab at the College of Design & Innovation at Tongji University in Shanghai. Previously, Aric was the curatorial director for the Design Miami fairs in Miami Beach and Basel, Switzerland. He was also a curator-at-large of the M+ museum in Hong Kong and the creative director of Beijing Design Week. Aric's work has been featured in Vogue, Wallpaper, The New York Times, and Architectural Record, among other publications

• Received a bachelor’s degree in architecture and anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley
• Received a master’s degree in history of decorative arts and design from Parsons/Cooper-Hewitt
