Amy McKeever has nearly two decades of experience writing in the travel and food space. Amy attended college at Syracuse University, receiving a bachelor’s degree in magazine journalism, history, and French. She went on to work in the press office of the U.S. Mission to NATO in Brussels, Belgium, designing a program for visiting French politicians. In the United States, Amy held the position of senior writer and editor at Eater magazine, where she helped launch a longform features program and recruited freelancers from London to Hong Kong. She attended conferences in Copenhagen and Mexico City and produced a video project with Vox Media. During her freelance career, Amy wrote the Fodor's guidebooks to Virginia and Maryland and contributed to publications like National Geographic Traveler, Travel + Leisure, Bon Appétit, Condé Nast Traveler, and Thrillist. Currently, Amy is a senior writer and editor for National Geographic in Washington, D.C.
