Amanda Richards is a writer and editor who is passionate about shifting fashion and beauty narratives. Specializing in creating compelling, relatable content for editorial-driven brands, she enjoys challenging audiences to consider something different. Before getting into fashion and beauty, Amanda lived and worked in Seoul, South Korea, from 2010 to 2015. During that time, she held a variety of roles, from being a travel guide consultant and city correspondent for Gogobot to writing and editing English textbooks and study guides. Shortly after moving to New York City in 2015, she spent more than three years at Bustle. During her tenure, she was a fashion and beauty editor and the host of The Bodcast, the outlet's first news and politics podcast. After Bustle, Amanda worked at InStyle as a senior editor for a year, where she introduced consistent plus-size fashion content to InStyle.com, increasing InStyle.com's plus-size fashion-focused traffic by 200 percent in one year. In 2019, she transitioned into focusing on branded content as the editorial director of Universal Standard, where she created an editorial strategy for the brand's magazine, US Journal. Most recently, Amanda has served as a partnerships editor for several Dotdash Meredith brands, including Real Simple, People, InStyle, Health, Shape, Southern Living, and more. In addition to writing and editing, she hosts the Big Calf podcast.
