Abeni Jones is a trans woman of color writer, editor, and educator based in California. A former middle and high school teacher, she now writes for a variety of publications, is a freelance artist and designer, and facilitates workshops around the country focusing on racial and gender justice and community building. She is currently the managing editor of PushBlack, ​​the nation's largest non-profit media organization for Black Americans. Her work has also appeared in The Washington Post, Autotraddle.com, Fast Company, Travel + Leisure, and Travel Weekly.

• Received a bachelor's degree in rhetoric and composition/writing studies from Pepperdine University
