Cat lovers officially have a new place to feed their obsession with their precious pets.

According to CBS Miami, feline-enthusiasts in Poland now have their own museum (mew-seum?) to enjoy all cat-related things.

The Cat Museum in Krakow, Poland is a one-stop place to see cat-related artifacts. It was officially started by a cat-loving Ukrainian couple, Nataliya Koshivaya and her husband, back in June 2019. The couple has an ever-growing collection of kitty-inspired knick-knacks and tchotchkes, according to First News.

The small museum is less related to the history of cats and cat ownership and more like a gallery of cat-related gifts and accouterment. Cat-shaped home items like soap dispensers, sponge rests, and teapots co-mingle with dozens of decorative items like snow globes, paintings, pillows, and figurines from around the world, CBS Miami reported.

According to First News, the tiny museum has approximately 1,000 figurines packed in a particularly small space of about 15 square meters (161 square feet).

Koshivaya told CBS Miami that her cat collection started 15 years ago after a friend gave her a tiny cat figurine. It looks like a tabby cat playfully holding up its paw next to a basket of yarn. Inscribed on the base is “nur für dich,” which means “just for you” in German. An incredible gift, to say the least.

While there are plenty of kitty-inspired items to peruse, unfortunately, the museum is not a place to see, play with, or adopt live cats. Koshivaya told CBS Miami that perhaps someday the museum will be able to house cats as well.

Considering that dogs already have their own museum in New York City, it seems only natural that cats should get one too. The popularity of cat cafés around the world has also made it easier for cat lovers to show their feline appreciation. Perhaps, in the future, the cat museum will take a page from these popular hangouts and also install a café with adoptable kitties. Only time will tell, of course.

The museum currently has a 4.5-star rating on Trip Advisor and is becoming one of the “must-see” places to visit while in Krakow. For more information about the Cat Museum in Krakow, visit the museum’s official Facebook page.
