This weekend, on June 25, San Francisco will once again be hosting the Nor Cal Corgi Con, the social event of the season for hundreds of Corgi pups.

It all began a few years ago when some enthusiastic corgi owners got together to let their pets romp around. Eventually word got out to other fans of the breed, and the event grew into a bona-fide convention.

This year marks the third official Nor Cal Corgi Con, which will take place on a local beach. Tents are set up with a variety of puppy-themed activities including races and costume contests, but mostly the loveable canines enjoy running in the sand with their pals.

Last year people came from all over the country, including Hawaii to attend the event and even more dogs (and humans) are expected for this year’s festivities.
