Here’s a Sneak Peek at Legoland’s New Rides in the Lego Movie World Expansion
What’s better than watching "The Lego Movie?" Being in the Lego Movie (so to speak).
No, we’re not talking about “walk on” roles in the animated film. We’re talking about an incredible new theme park completely based around "The Lego Movie" cinematic universe.
According to the company's blog, The Lego Movie World at Legoland Florida Resort is a brand new project in conjunction with Warner Bros., allowing guests the chance to stroll around the movie’s fictional town of Bricksburg and experience amazing rides based on the original movie and its sequel, "The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part."
Some of the awesome (because EVERYTHING IS AWESOME) new rides include The Lego Movie Masters of Flight, a flying theater attraction in which you sit on Emmet’s (played by Chris Pratt in the movie) flying couch and go on an adventure through the town. According to a press release, this ride will be the first attraction at a major theme park in the United States "that embeds a 180-degree turn in the ride experience."
For people who are in love with Lego cat-icorns, there’s Unikitty’s Disco Drop. The tower-style ride is a dropping, spinning, bouncing thrill ride that only the quirky Unikitty (played by Alison Brie in the movie) can provide.
And for the master builders out there, put your skills to the test at the Battle of Bricksburg attraction. On this ride, guests fight off alien invaders with water sprayers as they sail through downtown Bricksburg.
Aside from rides, fans of the movie can meet their favorite characters, enjoy delicious food and even stay in a "Lego Movie" themed room at the Legoland Hotel. The park itself is scheduled to open in spring 2019. Trust us, if you’re a fan of the movie, you’re going to want to grab a season pass.
