What's your favorite place to travel with your family?
Paris is simply a "kid city." Parisians, especially waiters, love to make children happy. The Tuileries and Luxembourg gardens are our kids' (ages 12 and 18) favorite parks in the world.

I love to take my daughters, ages eight and two, to Salem, Massachusetts. Besides the fun events at Halloween, there are year-round attractions like the New England Pirate Museum, the Witch Dungeon museum, and the real House of the Seven Gables. My older daughter knows the true story behind the witch trials. It's a chance for the girls to learn history in an entertaining manner.
Our family's favorite is Jasper Park Lodge in Alberta, Canada. The scenery on the drive north from Banff is awe-inspiring, and the accommodations are comfortable log cabins with room service provided by bicycle-riding college students. We plan to return for our third trip very soon.

We just got back from a family trip to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. There were 15 of us, ranging from 11 to 76 years old. It was warm and sunny the whole week, and the resort had something for all ages, including scuba diving and volleyball. Not one of the 15 had any complaints--it was a perfect vacation.
In summer we hit the beaches of Laguna Beach, California, and the Hamptons in New York. In winter, we go to Park City, Utah. Our family includes Jamie, a Samoyed who loves both the waves and the snow.
Des Moines, Iowa
Our favorite family destination is Santorini, Greece. We stay at the Hotel Vedema, a converted wine maker's villa in the village of Megalohóri. Our two daughters love the beaches, the town of Fíra (where the sun setting into the caldera is magnificent), and the dance clubs, which stay open until the wee hours. A 3,500-year-old Minoan site is being excavated in Akrotíri.
