Earlier this month, Godzilla was named official tourism ambassador for Tokyo’s Shinjuku ward, and now (perhaps inevitably) the legendary monster is showing up in two types of rooms at Tokyo’s Hotel Gracery Shinjuku.
Guests staying in the Godzilla Room on the hotel’s top floor can expect a few in-room surprises, including a trick wall that reveals hidden art when a black light is switched on. Add that to the life-size Godzilla claw positioned above the beds and a Godzilla figure inside of the room, and you’ve got the perfect set-up for monster movie aficionados.
For a lighter touch of Godzilla flair, there’s the Godzilla View room, which overlooks a life-size replica of the movie monster’s head. It’s just like being a bystander in the original “Godzilla” movie—minus the adrenaline, of course.
According to the hotelier President and CEO Akira Segawa, the Godzilla rooms are already booked up for months. For more information on how to reserve a room, visit the hotel’s website.
